Haunting release

Last Updated on July 26, 2021

If you thought the trend of ‘haunting’ movies died with AN AMERICAN HAUNTING and THE HAUNTING OF MOLLY HARTLEY, you thought wrong. Yes, the trend probably should have died with those movies, but… it looks like we have another ‘haunting’ movie to haunt us this summer from Lionsgate Films.

THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT, starring Virginia Madsen, Elias Koteas, Martin Donovan, and Kyle Gallner, is scheduled to be released on June 19, 2009, a time that’s usually dead for horror movies, but under the right circumstances, horror can succeed (THE STRANGERS). Then again, horror can flop pretty hard in the summer time as well (HOSTEL PART II).

To be honest, I totally forgot about CONNECTICUT. In fact, the film fell off my radar a while back since it seems like it’s been ‘in the can’ for a while now. A summer release either means Lionsgate is super stoked about it… or June is the new dump month for horror.

CONNECTICUT is about the true story of a family forced to relocate near a clinic where their teenage son was being treated for cancer. The family begins experiencing violent, supernatural events that the parents first blame on stress from the illness, but they later discover that their new home is a former mortuary with a dark past.

Are you ready for it? Mark your calendar for June 19th when THE HAUNTING IN CONNECTICUT hits theaters everywhere.
