New international trailer offers a look at Kong: Skull Island

Kong: Skull Island Brie Larson Tom Hiddleston

The only truly new thing featured in the newly released 30 second international trailer for KONG: SKULL ISLAND is the Japanese text and narration. All of the footage within it was already seen in the two and a half minute trailer we got back in July, this one just cuts it together differently. But that footage looks so cool and the way it was cut together for this trailer works so well at helping boost my hype level for this movie even further, especially when paired with that music, that this trailer is still totally worth sharing.

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, John Gatins, Dan Gilroy, and Derek Connolly, KONG: SKULL ISLAND shows what happens when

a diverse team of explorers is brought together to venture deep into an uncharted island in the Pacific – as beautiful as it is treacherous – unaware that they’re crossing into the domain of the mythic Kong.

An incredible cast was assembled for this journey into Kong's territory. The film stars Tom Hiddleston (seemingly auditioning for James Bond in that LIVE AND LET DIE outfit), Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, John Goodman, John C. Reilly, Tian Jing, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell, John Ortiz, Thomas Mann, Shea Whigham, Toby Kebbell, and Eugene Cordero.

KONG: SKULL ISLAND is set to be released on March 10, 2017 (Japan gets it a little later, on March 25th). It's set in the same universe as the 2014 GODZILLA, and after GODZILLA 2 is released in 2019 we'll be getting GODZILLA VS. KONG in 2020.
