Scarecrow poster

Last Updated on July 27, 2021

Last month Mike told you all about this horror flick with loads of potential. It’s called SCARECROW and you can check the trailer out over at the movie’s official website.

Now I thought the trailer was great. It kept the tension building and had me thinking ‘Man this little girl is gonna get f*cked up!’ the whole time… and we get teased with that at the end! The scenery is amazing, build up is great, and everything as a whole works dandy for me… the only weakness I see is the actual Scarecrow… kind of looks like Davy Jones meets Michael Myers or something… but who knows, maybe the mask will work well once the flick unfolds.

Now today we got a look at the first poster for the flick, so go ahead and check that out above. It’s not much, but it’s only the first shot so give it time. I’m thinking simplicity is key with this one.

The synopsis for SCARECROW reads: If a scarecrow falls off its cross on All Hallow’s Eve and touches the ground, it can be possessed by a spirit. Embodied in the scarecrow’s primitive human shape, the resurrected spirit can then proceed to settle scores left unresolved before death.

The film revolves around an evil scarecrow coming alive and terrorizing a small town, whose fate rests in the hands of a group of adolescents. An evil scarecrow becomes resurrected, however a second scarecrow will be imbued with the spirit of goodness and the stage will be set for the fateful battle. The film contains brand new scarecrow lore never seen before and features many twists and turns. The film is aimed for mature audiences.

Sounds good to me! I just now realized I could really dig a good Scarecrow horror flick. Those Scarecrows have all the potential in the world to be scary bastards, but we’re yet to see someone really take advantage of that… well except Cillian Murphy of course.

The flick comes from writer/director Joseph Bat with Byron Scott producing. That’s all we know for now, so keep it here for updates.

If only all Scarecrows looked like this… then people would be running TO the fields!
