To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story

TO HELL AND BACK: THE KANE HODDER STORY, director Derek Dennis Herbert's documentary on the life of one of horror's greatest modern icons, will be making its world premiere at London's FrightFest on Saturday, August 26th. In anticipation of the doc's premiere, Herbert's company Masterfully Macabre Entertainment has released its trailer online.

TO HELL AND BACK is

the harrowing story of a stuntman overcoming a dehumanizing childhood filled with torment and bullying in Sparks, Nevada. After surviving a near-death burn accident, he worked his way up through Hollywood, leading to his ultimate rise as Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th series and making countless moviegoers forever terrified of hockey masks and summer camp.

To Hell and Back peels off the mask of Kane Hodder, cinema's most prolific killer, in a gut-wrenching, but inspiring, documentary. After decades of watching Kane Hodder on screen, get ready to meet the man behind the mask in To Hell and Back – an uniquely human story about one of cinema's most vicious monsters.

In addition to having Hodder talk about his life, the documentary is packed with interviews with popular genre regulars like Hodder's HATCHET director Adam Green, FRIDAY THE 13TH's Sean S. Cunningham, fellow Jason Voorhees Ted White, Robert Englund, Bruce Campbell, Danielle Harris, Felissa Rose, Cassandra "Elvira" Peterson, and more.

Hodder has had a fascinating life and has made some great contributions to the horror genre, so TO HELL AND BACK is definitely a must watch as far as I'm concerned.
