Robocop makes a move to IMAX beginning in February

Those willing to give the ROBOCOP remake a chance might want to see it in IMAX come the release on February 7, 2014.

Greg Foster, CEO of IMAX Entertainment and Senior Executive Vice President said, “Jose Padilha has re-imagined this story in an exciting new way and we’re thrilled to partner with MGM and Sony to bring it to audiences worldwide in the most immersive format – IMAX.”

After seeing the trailer, several of you were still on the fence about the flick. The there’s the other half that would not buy that for a dollar. Shouldn’t you do it for Michael Keaton? Doesn’t he deserve your money? I can’t wait on BEETLEJUICE 2 forever…never mind I can. Or you could throw your money at him and Aaron Paul in the NEED FOR SPEED movie.

I think we can agree that it was cool seeing the silver suit though you aren’t going to get a movie full of that.

In RoboCop, the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Overseas, their drones have been used by the military for years – and it’s meant billions for OmniCorp’s bottom line. Now OmniCorp wants to bring their controversial technology to the home front, and they see a golden opportunity to do it. When Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) – a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit – is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp sees its chance to build a part-man, part-robot police officer. OmniCorp envisions a RoboCop in every city and even more billions for their shareholders, but they never counted on one thing: there is still a man inside the machine pursuing justice.
