Assuming we don't see anything before then, we're just a little under a month away from our first real glimpse at X-MEN: APOCALYPSE. The first teaser for the upcoming X-MEN film will arrive with STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS on December 18, 2015, pretty much guaranteeing that at least a small handful of people will see it. X-MEN: APOCALYPSE director Bryan Singer has been piecing together the film's first teaser and he posted an image from said teaser on his Instagram.

Professor X (James McAvoy) certainly looks as though he's seen better days, but I suppose we'll have to wait a few more weeks before we get to see that scene play out. X-MEN: APOCALYPSE co-writer and producer Simon Kinberg has said that the teaser will be "certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it."

A synopsis for X-MEN: APOCALYPSE

Since the dawn of civilization, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel's X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto (Michael Fassbender), to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) with the help of Professor X (James McAvoy) must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE opens in theaters on May 27, 2016.
