Director Denis Villeneuve has explored the darker shades of morality in films like PRISONERS and SICARIO, and has even ventured into the realm of science-fiction with the likes of ARRIVAL. Now he's expanding on one of the greatest films of the genre with BLADE RUNNER 2049, starring Harrison Ford, Ryan Gosling and Robin Wright! Journey forward in time and back into glorious nostalgia with this first trailer!

Synopsis:

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

With Roger Deakins (SICARIO, SKYFALL) acting as cinematographer, I KNEW that the movie was going to look great, but holy hell I was not ready for the feels that came with hearing that classic Vangelis theme again. Music is such an integral part of the filmmaking process, and also a major reason on why BLADE RUNNER itself is such a classic. The visuals, coupled with that dream-like Vangelis score, helped to create some of the most compelling moments in cinema. I had chills just watching this trailer. BLADE RUNNER 2049, you have my attention!

BLADE RUNNER 2049 will open in theaters on October 6, 2017.
