Zach Braff runs over a lady in the The High Cost of Living trailer

Apr. 20, 2011by: Niki Stephens

I have a weakness for Zach Braff and the music of Joshua Radin. Maybe that's why I'm showing you this trailer for THE HIGH COST OF LIVING.

Basically Braff's character is much like his character in GARDEN STATE, just a little bit older. He's the single guy with no direction in life, partying it up, and at a constant stand still. The moment that changes everything is when he hits a girl with his car. To top it off, the chick is pregnant. Braff's character ends up spending time with her, despite her knowing that she hit him, kind of like Ben Affleck and Rebecca Hall's relationship in THE TOWN. It's THE TOWN meets GARDEN STATE minus the violence, bank robbing, and boston accents.

Check it out below.

"The story of a young, pregnant woman whose world falls apart when she loses her child in a hit and run accident. As her life unravels,Nathalie finds an unlikely protector in Henry, a down and out guardian angel who has followed her thread. But Henry is not quite an angel, and as she struggles to come to terms with the loss, Nathalie discovers that she has fallen in love with the man who ran her over."

Extra Tidbit: Do we have any SCRUBS fans here? Did you watch the last season? I couldn't.

Huge fan of Braff and think this looks great.

Scrubs is tied for my favorite show of all time and is watching the show is one of the best things I can remember about growing up. The last season was good, but it should have ended with the the brilliant ending of Season 8.

I actually liked the trailer, and think Zach Braff is a good actor. Even in the atrocious The Last Kiss he was good.
My problem is Joshua Radin. Not that his music is bad, but his only purpose in the trailer seems to be to remind audiences that Braff puts together cool soundtracks which often go on to be more successful in terms of sales, and popular than the films he's in. The song comes across as abrasive and jarring. As if at once I'm watching the trailer for the movie and waiting for a

Film looks good though.

Oh come on...

I saw the headline and thought they made a movie based on Death: The High Cost of Living by Neil Gaiman... I was all excited for all of 3 seconds till I found out it wasn't. I had heard a movie was in the works years ago so thought it was actually coming out... Oh well...

Thumbs up just for showing a Canadian film trailer. Isabelle Blais is a great actress.

I don't reckon I'm keen on this movie from this trailer. I'm not quite sure why, but it just looks like too twisted of a tragedy to me.

Tidbit: I actually liked the last season pretty well. It was definitely different, but I liked some of the characters. If it hadn't been called scrubs and had just been Med School: the new show by Bill Lawrence, it might have been more appealing to fans of the original series.

Ehhh

Movie looks okay at best. Scrubs is my favorite show though so I might check this out just because of that. Last season was terrible, but the ending of the 8th season was the perfect ending to a television show.

I was a fan for a while but I just couldn't stand Zach Braff. The entire cast was funny except him. I never could understand what Elliot's character saw in someone like JD. I never watched the last season, not sure why...

I partially agree with this. Braff's character was invaluable and mostly funny, I believe, but as the show went on for whatever reason the writers kept writing in d**k moves for the character. He became, or at least showed, more and more a-hole behavioral traits as the show went on to the point were I kinda' stopped liking the character all together by the end.

The new cast for the final (partial) season was good but the whole thing felt so damned contrived it really needed to end. Not to

I totally agree about the writers making JD into an a**hole. Not sure why they did that. They really should have ended it the second to last season and avoided the crappy last season. It ruined the ending of a good show.
