Simon Pegg and Nick Frost to revisit Shaun of the Dead for Phineas and Ferb

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

This year marks the 10th anniversary of one of the best comedies of all time, SHAUN OF THE DEAD. There are sure to be tributes of all kinds popping up around the Internet and one TV show in particular plans to do it justice by having the stars themselves reprise their signature roles. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost will become Shaun and Ed once again in the upcoming Halloween episode of Phineas and Ferb.

Pegg tweeted out the news this morning:

We don’t have an image yet to see how the duo will look in Phineas and Ferb animation style but judging from the shows clever use of movie references over the years, I trust they’re in good hands. We also don’t know if this is going to take place before or after the events of SHAUN OF THE DEAD; those of you have seen the movie know that depnding on the timeline it would change Frost’s appearance and speech pattern greatly. The duo does fit into the series perfectly; if THE AVENGERS and STAR WARS can take up full episodes, I don’t see why Shaun and Ed can’t stop by.

The show centers on the titular Phineas and Ferb who put their imaginations and ingenuity to use nearly everyday building fantastic contraptions. They never get in trouble and make their sister’s life Hell; it’s also filled with great allusions to movies. I’ve only seen a few episode here and there while channel surfing; I was reminded of this funny scene today:

The Phineas and Ferb Halloween special is coming October 2014.
