Schmoe Team LionHeart’s acute eye recently picked up that a MPAA ratings update on The Hollywood Reporter (click on the first “MPAA ratings” search result but it requires a subscription) announced that the upcoming fantasy adventure STARDUST, a Matthew Vaughn-directed adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s fantasy novel of the same name, had been bumped up from PG-13 to a solid R rating. And that, surprisingly enough, isn’t the most kooky part about this ratings upgrade. The supposed reason for the bump in rating is “fantasy violence and risque humor”. Good, bad or a big fat “who gives a shit?!”? Strike a little sumtin’ sumtin’ back, why dontcha? The deliciously risque humor and hardcore fantasy violence ensues August 10th.
Stardust gets an R?
