Rob Zombie may be making a sequel to 1000 Corpses / Devil’s Rejects

Although THE DEVIL'S REJECTS seemed to be the definitive ending of the Firefly family writer/director Rob Zombie had introduced with his feature debut HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, there have been indications over the twelve years since the film was released that Zombie was interested in bringing its characters back in some ways. In a "What movie would you like to see next?" poll posted on his website back in 2010, "THE DEVIL'S REJECTS 2" was listed as one of the options – and it was the winner. Last year, he took to Instagram to ask his fans if they would be interested in watching another movie starring Sid Haig as Captain Spaulding, Bill Moseley as Otis, and Sheri Moon Zombie as Baby. The response was very positive.

Zombie said "anything can happen" if there was enough interest, and now it looks like something might be happening. Brad Miska of Bloody-Disgusting has announced on the site that they have "exclusively confirmed" that Zombie is moving forward with some kind of follow-up to REJECTS and is bringing Spaulding, Otis, and Baby back to the screen.

There's no word on what the story might be or when filming might begin, but Miska was very confident in their source, even though he expects Zombie's initial response to the news to be a denial.

While it might be sort of odd to see the characters return when the actors have aged more than a decade since their death scene, I would still welcome them back. As far as I'm concerned, THE DEVIL'S REJECTS is Zombie's masterpiece, so I'd be glad to see him working in that world again.
