Excuse me! I'd like to ass you a few questions! Are you a fan of the Ace Ventura movies? Would you be game for a sequel? Alrighty then! Have I got some news for you!

According to a new report by Park Circus in which they investigate the future of the American film production company Morgan Creek Entertainment, a new Ace Ventura film is currently being developed at Amazon. Representatives from Morgan Creek talked about the surprise sequel during the interview, saying that it hails from Paramount's Sonic the Hedgehog writers.

When asked what's next for Morgan Creek, as we make out way out of the COVID-19 pandemic, representatives from the studio said:

We’re pretty excited about our franchise developments with Exorcist and the Ace Ventura franchise – it's noticeable from the 3 million fans chatting on the official Facebook page for Ace Ventura that audiences are clamoring for a 3rd installment… During COVID, audiences have been in love and are thrilled to have beloved characters brought back with new stories. Ace Ventura will see a new day at Amazon as a major motion-picture/theatrical with the Sonic the Hedgehog writers.

I find two things particularly odd about this news. To begin, why isn't this front-page news? Second, what is Park Circus playing at by burying this development at the bottom of the article? Maybe it's simply a matter of the interview's natural progression? I suppose we'll have to wait for more details, but for now, it sounds like Ace Ventura 3 is happening. While the article fails to address whether or not Jim Carrey will reprise his role as the titular pet detective, you have to assume that he's in negotiations to star, right?

We'll be sure to keep our eyes peeled for updates. In the meantime, what do you think of this news? Is now the perfect time for Ace Ventura to make a comeback? Is Amazon the right venue for Ace's next adventure? Let us know what you think in the comments section below.
