For those of you who enjoyed seeing Antonio Banderas back on the big screen in EXPENDABLES 3, you’ll get to check him out again in just a few months in the Sci-Fi/Thriller AUTOMATA. In the film, Banderas will portray Jacq Vaucan, an insurance agent of ROC robotics corporation who investigates the case of manipulating a robot. What he discovers will have profound consequences for the future of humanity . . . and his hair.
This film looks like an interesting cross between BLADE RUNNER and I, ROBOT. I think the practical effects used for the robots lend the film a lot more weight than that of I, ROBOT, although whatever looks and charm Melanie Griffith had are long gone. Yeesh.
AUTOMATA will see a limited theatrical release on October 10, 2014.
