Army of Thieves is the number one movie on Netflix in over 90 countries

The Army of the Dead universe expanded over the weekend with the release of the prequel of Army of Thieves and it looks like it’s duplicating the worldwide success of the zombie pic as the number one movie in over 90 countries.

Producer Zack Snyder took to Twitter to share an image that shows off the ensemble cast with the wording, “The #1 Movie in 90+ Countries.” Snyder accompanied the post with the caption, “ARMY OF THIEVES is now #1!!!” You can check out Snyder’s Twitter post below!

Zack Snyder and company accomplished this in a similar fashion with Army of the Dead back in May. In a matter of two days after Army of Thieves hit streaming, the film ranked in the number one spot on the “Top 10 in the U.S. Today” category, beating out the third season of You which ranks second, and Squid Game, which comes in at number three. Samba TV also reports that 770,000 U.S. households watched the film during its first-weekend streaming but remember this is only some of the data because Samba TV only measures analytics from certain Smart TVs.

Directed by Matthias Schweighöfer, “In this prequel to Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, a small-town bank teller Dieter gets drawn into the adventure of a lifetime when a mysterious woman recruits him to join a crew of Interpol’s most wanted criminals, attempting to heist a sequence of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe.” The prequel stars Schweighöfer, Nathalie Emmanuel, Ruby O. Fee, Stuart Martin, Guz Khan, Jonathan Cohen, and Noémie Nakai.
