Viy 2 Arnold Schwarzenegger Jackie Chan

You might not have heard of the 1967 Russian horror flick VIY, based on the 1835 Nikolai Gogol short story, or its 2014 Russian remake, which came out under the title FORBIDDEN EMPIRE, but I know you've heard of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jackie Chan. The two actors have just joined the cast of the Russian-Chinese co-production VIY-2,

They join the previously cast Rutger Hauer (BLADE RUNNER, THE HITCHER)

The movie centers on English explorer Jonathan Green (Jason Flemyng), who receives an order from Peter the Great to map the Russian Far East. Once again he sets out for a long journey full of incredible adventures that will eventually lead him to China. The cartographer will face many breathtaking discoveries, encounter bizarre creatures, meet with Chinese princesses, and confront deadly martial-arts masters and the Dragon King.

The cast also includes Charles Dance, Martin Klebba, and Christopher Fairbank. Oleg Stepchenko directed from a screenplay he co-wrote with Dmitry Palcev and producer Alexey Petrukhin.

The film, which was shot in China, is currently in post-production. It's unclear whether Schwazenegger and Chan were previously cast and only announced now, or if they'll be added in reshoots. But what is clear is that the movie just got about 700 percent more awesome. More on this story as it breaks!
