Dreamland, Max Cloud, Blu-ray, January, film, series, TV

It's Friday, folks, and do you know what that means? Not only have we reached the best day of the workweek, but after watching the latest episode of Marvel's WandaVision, it's the perfect time to take in a movie. If you've been hitting your personal Blu-ray collection pretty hard during the pandemic, why not pick up something new? Now, I know what you're thinking. Steve, there are hardly any new movies on the shelves nowadays. Yes, the Blu-ray situation has been rather grim as of late, but this week offers a few exceptions to the trend.

To begin, Miles Joris-Peyrafitte's Dreamland arrives on shelves this week, which stars Margot Robbie, Travis Fimmel, and Finn Cole, among others. In the recently-released drama, a teenager's adventures as a bounty hunter take an unexpected twist. That sounds intriguing, no? I mean, I'd watch it just for Margot Robbie. I'd watch her in anything.

Alright. If Dreamland isn't getting your goat, how about Max Cloud? Directed and co-written by Martin Owen with Sally Collett, Max Cloud tells the tale of what happens when a space cruiser crashes on a planet that is home to an intergalactic prison. This sci-fi comedy spectacle stars Scott Adkins, John Hannah, and Lashana Lynch. Wow! Really? That sounds pretty tight, actually. I might have to check this one out myself. Hold on, I'm going to go watch a trailer for the movie. Okay, I'm back, and yeah, I'm going to need to see this. Max Cloud looks absurd in a way that I adore, and I'm totally game for it.

There's also the Chris Stokes-directed thriller Always and Forever, in which Nicole with her childhood friends each find themselves in danger after becoming targets of a deranged stalker. Nicole knows this can't be a coincidence. The secrets of their past are coming back to haunt them. Dun dun dunnn!

Other notable releases include A Serbian Film, Rolling Thunder: A Bob Dylan Story by Martin Scorsese, and maybe a hentai anime collection or two! Those types of Blu-rays are always lurking among the rabble.
