Chad Michael Murray and Ashley Tisdale join Nicolas Cage’s remake of Left Behind

JoBloJoBlo

Looks like Nicolas Cage‘s remake of the LEFT BEHIND series of faith-based action movies just got a little more interesting. Just kidding, it still sounds like it is going to be a trainwreck. But, at least now it will be a trainwreck featuring appealing young stars!

Deadline is reporting that Ashley Tisdale, of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL fame, is joining LEFT BEHIND. Tisdale will play Chloe Steele, the daughter of Cage’s Ray Steele character. After millions of people suddenly disappear from Earth, Chloe wanders America looking to find any remaining members of her family.

Also rumored to be joining is CW mainstay Chad Michael Murray. Murray would take the Kirk Cameron role of journalist Buck Williams. It never bodes well if these three are your top billed talent. But, was there really any hope that this movie would be any good? I never saw the original films (and I use the word film only because that is what the movie was recorded to) but I did read the first novel. It was so painful to read i could never imagine reading sixteen volumes of it.
