Cool Videos: Trailer for Atlantic Rim is exactly what you think it is

Yep. This happened. In order to compete with the blockbuster contender PACIFIC RIM from Guillermo Del Toro, the folks at Asylum put together this little slice of heaven known as ATLANTIC RIM, which stars Graham Green and Treach in what can only be described as a complete knock-off of the other robots vs. monsters movie, just on a different coast. What compels folks to make these mockbusters is beyond me. Yet, here it is, shameless and ridiculous. Could it be fun? Sure. Could it be painful? Bet on it.

Hit play. Face palm:

Head over to The Asylum’s website for more hilarious knock-off spoofs, including JACK THE GIANT KILLER and AE APOCALYPSE EARTH, amongst others. If you’re a fan of schlock, prepare for your nirvana.
