Exclusive: Be careful what door you open in this clip from Crimson Peak

I feel like I've been waiting for a really long time to finally see CRIMSON PEAK and that wouldn't be too far off the mark as it was first teased years ago and is just now finally making its way to theaters. Guillermo del Toro's jump back into horror is a welcome change for the visionary filmmaker and given the overall atmosphere, setting, and stellar cast he's assembled for this gothic ghost story, I couldn't be more excited to see what he has in store for us. That fire is only stoked further with this exclusive clip we have for you, which, if nothing else, serves as a subtle reminder to stay in your room after bedtime when visiting a big scary mansion, lit candles or no.

"Don't…open…the…door."

This just feels like it'll be a whole heeping dose of stylish horror fun. While some may be hoping for a deeply scary flick (and that's always possible), I'm just hoping for something that oozes with del Toro's signature and brings out some spirited performances and lingering visuals. Although I really enjoyed PACIFIC RIM and the HELLBOY films, it'll be nice to see del Toro back in darker waters for a spell. Plus, this baby hits during Halloween and a del Toro horror flick for the spooky season is just too damn cool.

CRIMSON PEAK, starring Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, and Charlie Hunnam starts haunting theaters on October 16th.
