The Fast Saga and Jurassic World crossover could happen says Justin Lin

Have you ever wanted to see a Velociraptor drive a Dodge Charger? How badly do you want to see Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto punch a Tyrannosaurus in the face? What if I told you that all of this and more could happen in one of the most epic crossover events in cinematic history?

According to F9 director Justin Lin, a crossover between the Fast & Furious movies and the Jurassic Park/World franchise is not out of the question.

"Well, I've never said never to anything," Lin said when asked about the two franchises eventually crossing lanes during a virtual conference. "And the fact that part of our philosophy is not to ever be boxed in or labeled. And that's all I will say."

Wait. How is something this epic even possible? Well, it's because the Fast & Furious and Jurassic Park/World franchises are both owned by Universal. Plus, have you seen the latest trailer for F9? Is there any length this franchise won't go to to bring it to the next level? After looking around online, it sounds like loads of fans want the Fast franchise to go to space, but what if it went to Isla Nublar instead?

"Once you reach a certain pinnacle, there's nowhere to go but to cross-brand and merge, it's what big corporations do with each other when they get too big, you know what I mean?" Fast franchise star Michelle Rodriguez recently said about expanding the found family's reach. "You just have to brand and merge with each other. But the only thing standing in the way is lawyers and studios. Because usually the brands that you're trying to merge belong to different studios or whatever. But it's under the same umbrella. I don't know. I'm just saying. It works."

While I'm not much of a Jurassic fan beyond the first (and timeless) film in the franchise, I am a hardcore "ride or die" for the Fast & Furious brand. I don't know how we're going to make this crossover a reality, but if there were ever a reason to start a Snyder Cut-like campaign, this is it! I can't think of anything more ridiculous than Tyrese Gibson being bullied into riding a trained Velociraptor into an over-the-top car battle. Or how about the Fast family driving like a bat out of hell to escape an exploding volcano? Let's make it happen, Universal. After all, after this past year and a half, don't we deserve nice things?

Directed by Justin Lin, F9 is set to race into theaters on June 25th. The film stars Vin Diesel, John Cena, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Sung Kang, with Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Cardi B.

Here's the official synopsis for F9:

Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob.

Seriously, Universal. I've never wanted a crossover more in my life. Let's make this insane fever dream of an idea a reality, shall we?
