Goldeneye: Pierce Brosnan – James Bond Revisited

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

When Licence to Kill came out in the summer of 1989, it, unfortunately, marked the end of Timothy Dalton's tenure as James Bond. A significant delay involving behind-the-scenes wheeling and dealing meant a proposed third Dalton film, The Property of a Lady never got off the ground, and when they were finally ready to return to the franchise, he'd moved on. This opened the door for Pierce Brosnan to step in and reclaim the part that was very nearly his in 1987, in what would be his first, iconic turn as James Bond 007 in Goldeneye! On this episode of James Bond Revisited we explore the Goldeneye phenomenon, including the hype that went into its launch and its enduring legacy, including the iconic in its own way N64 game, Goldeneye 007!
