Haunted PS1 Demo Disk devs announce 2021 edition

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Earlier this year, on itch.io, a group of developers worked on a collection of horror-themed indie games in the style of low-rez PS1 games called the HAUNTED PS1 DEMO DISK 2020, which you can check out right now.

However, a new 2021 edition is on the way – and according to their official Twitter account – they're now accepting submissions until January 31st, 2021. Check it out:

Meanwhile, if you want to submit a game yourself, you can do so right here. Here's the full description:

Following the major success of the 2020 demo disc we have decided to organise another this year.

Once again the project will be a game launcher full of demos for games released in the past year or releasing in the future from creators involved in our community. We request that only people who are somewhat active in either our Discord server or with our twitter community submit games, but if you'd like to get more involved in future and have a game demo you'd like to submit feel free to fill out this form too. Submissions should be sent in through this form before the end of January and will be curated by a group of people from our Discord server. Once we decide if your demo will be included we will email you to let you know. If your game is accepted you will be able to update builds, cover images or other information.

For the demo disc we'd prefer to have short demos for projects and not full projects. I would like to specifically clarify that this is not a game jam and making a project specifically to submit to the demo disc is not recommended. It is okay if you are just starting a project at the moment and intend to release a full game later after the demo disc. This project is intended to get games from our community in front of a lot of people and to create awareness for developers who's work our fans can support. The demos should be short vertical slices anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes long (longer may be okay but we would really prefer if the projects were under 30 minutes) Consider how you can give a neat slice of the gameplay and atmosphere of your game but try to keep it a tantalizing taster that should leave players hungry for more and wanting to follow development or to buy the full release.

So what do you guys think? Fans of HAUNTED PS1? If so, looking forward to the new edition? Either way, sound off below!
