A Children of the Corn sequel may currently be filming

Dimension Films wants to remake HELLRAISER and the 1984 Stephen King adaptation CHILDREN OF THE CORN (which already received a remake that Dimension wasn't involved with back in 2009). Problem is, they can't quite seem to get these projects off the ground, so in order to retain the rights to the properties they have to put other HELLRAISER and CHILDREN OF THE CORN projects into production. That is how we got the very low budget sequels HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS and CHILDREN OF THE CORN: GENESIS back in 2011.

Since they recently lost hold of the HALLOWEEN series, keeping the rights to their remaining horror franchises is likely a high priority at Dimension. The rights to HELLRAISER have been secured with the production of HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT, so it would make a lot of sense if Dimension were to get another CHILDREN OF THE CORN together now, too… And our pals over at Bloody-Disgusting have heard that they have done just that.

Two separate sources have told B-D that a new CHILDREN OF THE CORN is currently filming, although they disagreed on who the director is. One said that Joel Soisson, who directed GENESIS, is back at the helm, while the other said it's being directed by FEAST / PIRANHA 3DD's John Gulager (who also happens to have an acting role in HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT).

The original CHILDREN OF THE CORN told the story of

a young couple trapped in a remote town where a dangerous religious cult of children believe everyone over the age of 18 must be killed.

Personally, I'm a big fan of the CHILDREN OF THE CORN franchise. I can't get enough of these flicks and would gladly see the series continue on indefinitely. We're waiting to hear confirmation on this new sequel, but I hope it is actually happening. Bring me more CORN!
