Blood Drive revs up for a June 14 Syfy premiere

The Syfy series Blood Drive is a project I have been following with eager anticipation ever since it was first announced back in July of 2015. It has a story reminiscent of the classic DEATH RACE 2000 and is described as a "highly stylized throwback to 1970s grindhouse cinema" - thus, it sounds like something I'm going to love watching.

Created by James Roland, the series has an official synopsis that goes like this:

Los Angeles in the near future: where water is a scarce as oil, gas costs $60 per gallon, and climate change keeps the temperature at a cool 115 in the shade. It’s a place where no one can walk down the street without protection, where crime is so rampant that only the worst violence is punished, and where Arthur Bailey — the city’s last good cop — runs afoul of the dirtiest and meanest underground car rally in the world, Blood Drive.  The master of ceremonies is a vaudevillian nightmare, The drivers are homocidal deviants, and the cars run on human blood. Buckle Up, Lube Up and prepare for everything you know about Cable Television to Blow up!

With a cast including Alan Ritchson, Thomas Dominique, Christina Ochoa (pictured below), Marama Corlett (above), and Colin Cunningham, the thirteen episode first season went into production last summer and is now almost ready to bring its vehicular mayhem to Syfy's airwaves.

The network has announced that the series premiere of Blood Drive will makes its debut at 10pm EST on June 14th.

I know what I'll be doing on the night of June 14th: watching a grindhouse-esque TV show about a dystopian future where cars run on blood.
