We've seen teasers, production videos and promos for Showtime's "Penny Dreadful" series so far, but no damn trailer. Today that all changes though because we are happy to hook you guys up with the show's first full length trailer, and it's f*cking awesome! After finally seeing the trailer, I couldn't be happier to see that it landed on Showtime because series creator John Logan was really aiming for "Penny Dreadful" to be as dark as possible when bringing some of literature's most classic characters to life. Between "Penny Dreadful" and Guillermo del Toro's "The Strain" on the horizon, the future of horror on the small screen is looking better than ever.
The series will debut on Sunday, May 11th at 10pm. Two out of the eight episodes will be directed by THE ORPHANAGE's J.A. Bayona.
The series draws from famous works of literature, posing that some of the most terrifying protagonists — Dr. Frankenstein and his creature, Dorian Gray, Dracula’s Van Helsing and more — come together in Victorian London.
"Penny Dreadful" stars Josh Hartnett, Eva Green, Timothy Dalton, Reeve Carney, Rory Kinnear, Hearry Treadaway, Billie Piper and Danny Sapani.
