Naomi Watts, Tom Sizemore, and David Lynch may appear on Twin Peaks

The rumor that David Lynch's MULHOLLAND DRIVE star Naomi Watts would be showing up on the revival of his television show Twin Peaks has been going around since last October. That rumor has reared its head once again, with Deadline's Nellie Andreeva hearing that Watts has joined the cast, although no one involved with the show is confirming anything.

Andreeva has also heard that Tom Sizemore will be appearing on the show, and that Lynch himself will be stepping in front of the camera as well, reprising his role as FBI Regional Bureau Chief Gordon Cole. Well, he's going be on set anyway, so why not?

Production on this new season of Twin Peaks, which is set to air on Showtime in 2017, is currently underway, with Lynch directing every episode, having also written them with his Twin Peaks co-creator Mark Frost. It is not yet known just how many episodes this season will consist of, as Lynch is shooting the project as if it were one very long movie.

Watts, Sizemore, and Lynch would be joining a cast that includes Kyle MacLachlan, Sheryl Lee, Sherilyn Fenn, Dana Ashbrook, Machen Amick, Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Balthazar Getty, Robert Knepper, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Miguel Ferrer, David Patrick Kelly, Richard Beymer, Bailey Chase, Laura Dern, and maybe Robert Forster.

Twin Peaks originally aired for 30 episodes on ABC in 1990 - 1991.
