You read that right folks. Updates on GREMLINS 3, a GREMLINS reboot and JURASSIC PARK IV! Spoiled much?
You see the folks over at Crave Online had a chance to chat it up with producer Frank Marshall regarding his newest action romp THE BOURNE LEGACY. Now that’s all fine and dandy but what we want to hear about is GREMLINS and JURASSIC PARK! Let’s skip ahead to the good bits.
In regards to GREMLINS 3: “You know, we’ve had people call us about it but I think that’s another one that’s kind of now left to be its own. It’s like doing Goonies 2 or E.T. 2. I think it’s another time, it’s another era and they should just rest where they are.”
As for a GREMLINS reboot: “No, I don’t think so. I think by now we have something in our contracts, or at least Amblin does, where it can’t be remade without Steven [Spielberg]’s permission.”
And lastly JURASSIC PARK IV and that pesky ‘weaponized dinosaurs’ rumor: “No, no, it’s in development. It’s got new life. It’s got new life. I can tell you that that is moving forward.” … “No, no, that’s another rumor. That’s not it.”
So there you have it folks! JURASSIC PARK IV is indeed happening sans weaponized dinos, GREMLINS 3 is always a possibility and a GREMLINS reboot seems dead in the water. Sounds good to me!
