I'm usually not a fan of horror movies giving away scares in their promotional material, but this exclusive clip from THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR is definitely worth it. I was a little iffy on the film at first, but this particular scare has defintely won me over. While it's not exactly groundbreaking in our current inundation of paranormal horror, it's a well-realized moment that features some of the best horror kid acting in a very long time. A family lives an idyllic existence abroad until a tragic accident takes the life of their young son. The inconsolable mother learns of an ancient ritual that will bring him back to say a final goodbye. She travels to an ancient temple, where a door serves as a mysterious portal between two worlds. But when she disobeys a sacred warning to never open that door, she upsets the balance between life and death.
Johannes Roberts directed the film from a screenplay he wrote with Ernest Riera. It stars The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies, Jeremy Sisto, and Javier Botet (the unforgettable Niña Medeiros from the [REC] franchise). Peek on THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR in theaters March 4th.
