Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny: final trailer drops at Star Wars Celebration

Lucasfilm and Disney dropped the final trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at this year’s Star Wars Celebration.

It may have been Star Wars Celebration 2023, but Lucasfilm couldn’t pass up the opportunity to drop the final trailer for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. The film, which was just announced as making its premiere at Cannes, is just a few months away, and judging from the reaction in the room, fan anticipation for this one is at a fever pitch. Attendees got to watch the five minutes of the movie (a car chase in Morocco), which was only for them, but luckily fans won’t have to wait too much longer to see the full thing.

As for the trailer itself, it’s cool but also a touch unusual for an Indiana Jones movie, with it scored by The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil.” Then again, this reflects the era the movie is set in nicely (it’s set in 1969). The trailer does a good job setting up Mads Mikkelsen’s evil Voller, with him shown in full Nazi regalia as he does battle with the young(er) Indiana Jones. We also get a little more insight into Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character, Helena, who is the daughter of Toby Jones’ Basil, who’s with Indy on the WW2 adventure that starts the film and first brings him into contact with Voller. The trailer ends with that classic Raiders March by John Williams, setting up what looks like an amazing final adventure.

Here’s the new studio synopsis:

In Lucasfilm’s “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny,” Harrison Ford returns as the legendary hero archaeologist, starring along with Phoebe Waller-Bridge (“Fleabag”), Antonio Banderas (“Pain and Glory”), John Rhys-Davies (“Raiders of the Lost Ark”), Toby Jones (“Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom”), Boyd Holbrook (“Logan”), Ethann Isidore (“Mortel”) and Mads Mikkelsen (“Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”). Directed by James Mangold, the film is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Frank Marshall and Simon Emanuel, with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas serving as executive producers. John Williams, who has scored each Indy adventure since the original “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 1981, has once again composed the score.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny premieres at Cannes on May 18th and hits theaters on June 30th! Are you pumped by the new trailer? Let us know in the comments!
