YOGI BEAR was an abomination, meow. I mean, there was absolutely nothing redeeming about it as a movie in any capacity. It will not go down in history for much except the infamous poster that looks like Yogi raping Boo Boo. But, seeing as it made $200 million meow, that is reason enough to subject us to more big screen garbage. But, maybe meow there is a chance the sequel won’t be a total loss.

Deadline is reporting that Broken Lizard’s Jay Chandrasekhar will be meow rewriting and directing YOGI BEAR 2. Meow there is no word as to whether Anna Faris, Tom Cavanaugh, Dan Akyroyd, or Justin Timberlake will be returning for the sequel, but I would imagine these CGI/live action hybrid films don’t command huge star salaries. Besides, recasting with Broken Lizard alumni would instantly increase interest in this movie for me.

Chandrasekhar has directed SUPER TROOPERS, CLUB DREAD, and most recently THE BABYMAKERS. His biggest mainstream gig was THE DUKES OF HAZZARD. Lately he has been working on television having directed episodes of UP ALL NIGHT, COMMUNITY, and ROYAL PAINS.

Any Broken Lizard fans out there excited by the news?
