Jeremy Renner and Hannibal Buress join Ed Helms in comedy about the game Tag

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Is there nothing Hollywood won't adapt? There's a movie coming out, in real life, called TAG about the fucking playground game of the same name! And it's attracted quite the talent, too. Joining the previously announced Ed Helms and Tracy Morgan is Jeremy Renner and Hannibal Buress.

Also, to be fair, according to Variety, the film is based on "a true story featured in the Wall Street Journal about a group of friends who have been playing a no-holds-barred version of the children’s game Tag for the last 30 years." So it's more likely the studio thought story was cute and made a (probably) mediocre comedy out of the premise. But, still, imagine a studio exec being all "What's an IP we can exploit? Playground games? Johnson you're brilliant!". The sad part is, that doesn't seem weird.

Anyway, who knows how the film will actually turn out, but that's quite an impressive cast, so hopefully it'll be good. Who knows.

So what playground games do you think should have their own movie. I think a gritty re-imagining of RED ROVER about aliens could be cool.
