NON-STOP represents the latest in a string of movies that have typecast the great Liam Neeson as the angry, middle-aged hero with a vendetta and a particular set of skills. Whether it be TAKEN, UNKNOWN, or NON-STOP, Neeson has taken to the late career resurgence in stride. TAKEN has already spawned a sequel and another is on the way to complete the trilogy. But what about NON-STOP?

UNKNOWN and NON-STOP producer Joel Silver was directly asked about a potential second movie for Neeson's air marshall Bill Marks. Here is what he told Entertainment Weekly.

I need to think of a way to put them in an equal situation. But when I make a sequel I like to replicate the experience, not replicate the movie. I’m not going to put them on a plane again, of course. He has a touch of Sherlock Holmes in that he has to figure out what’s going on and then he has to figure out how to solve it. I think that character’s a great character and we’ll try to figure something else to do. I haven’t thought about it yet. But I have to, sooner or later.

The box office returns for Neeson's vendetta films has been waning but they still pack enough seats that they are worth the cost to make. It doesn't sound like Silver is in too much of a hurry to make NON-STOP 2: NON-STOPPIER, but there are worse characters to reprise on the big screen.

Liam Neeson has tried to mix things up with comedic turns in A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST and as Bad Cop in THE LEGO MOVIE, but he seems to be going right back to his recent wheelhouse with A WALK AMONGST THE TOMBSTONES later this year. Hopefully he mixes it up a bit more in the future.

NON-STOP is now on Blu-Ray. Get it here!
