Among the plethora of deals being hashed out at the Cannes Film Festival, we’ve learned that City Lights Pictures has picked up the North American rights to the John Malkovich starring drama GARDENS OF THE NIGHT. Under writer/director Damian Harris, the story follows “ Leslie (Gillian Jacobs), who struggles with a hand to mouth existence on the streets of San Diego with only her childhood friend Donnie (Evan Ross) to look after her, both of them trying to cope with the trauma of having been abducted and held captive by two men (Tom Arnold and Kevin Zegers), nine years earlier.” A theatrical release is expected in the fall. Evan Ross, Jeremy Sisto and Ryan Simpkins co-star.
