Last week we mentioned a brand-spanking new, original nature-based disaster flick M. Night Shyamalan has been shopping around to studios currently to no avail as, after LADY IN THE WATER, Shams has been bumped up to Yellow on the Box Office Terror Alert. Variety recently shed a little more light on the situation (thanks to Teddy from MNightFans.com once again for the heads up) and it seems the film is titled THE GREEN EFFECT and centers on “a large-scale, cataclysmic environmental crisis that turns into a struggle by mankind to overcome nature.” Shams, now able to handle negative criticism without curling up into a fetal position and regressing to a childhood happy place for months at a time, accepted notes from the studios, will rewrite and return in a month with a new title, cast and budget. After that, if he manages to appease a particular studio, he’ll likely start filming before he starts work on the children’s fantasy adventure AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER.
