The Twilight Zone, CBS

The Twilight Zone is still in the midst of its first season, but CBS All Access has decided to spend more time in the dimension of sight, sound, and mind as they've renewed the series for a second season.

A premiere date or episode count for the second season hasn't yet been announced, but Julie McNamara, executive vice-president of original content for CBS All Access, released the following statement: "Jordan Peele and Simon Kinberg's reimagining of The Twilight Zone is off to an amazing start on CBS All Access, driving the most viewers on its premiere day for an original series to date. Jordan, Simon, the creative team and cast have done a phenomenal job translating the series’ legacy of socially conscious storytelling for modern-day audiences. They are master storytellers, and we look forward to bringing fans further into The Twilight Zone with a second season." I've only watched the first two episodes of the revival series so far, but I must confess to walking away with mixed feelings. However, the great thing about the anthology format is that even if one episode isn't your cup of tea, the next could very well wind up being a new favourite. What are your thoughts on The Twilight Zone so far?

Executive produced and hosted by Jordan Peele (US), The Twilight Zone aims to bring "the original show’s legacy of socially conscious storytelling to modern day audiences, exploring the human condition and holding a lens up to the culture of our times." There's also quite the all-star cast spread out over the first ten-episodes, including Adam Scott, Tracy Morgan, Seth Rogen, Greg Kinnear, Steven Yeun, John Cho, Jacob Tremblay, Sanaa Lathan, Taissa Farmiga, Allison Tolman, Zazie Beetz, Chris O'Dowd, and many more. Our own Alex Maidy has caught the first four episodes of The Twilight Zone and was quite pleased with what he's seen.

This take on The Twilight Zone is nothing short of masterful and Rod Serling would be proud. Everything about this show is excellent and will make you question your reality in a way that only a rare piece of entertainment can. This is the series that is going to go down as one of the best of all time right alongside it's namesake.

Be sure to check out the rest of Alex Maidy's review of The Twilight Zone.
