Channing Tatum channels his inner sadist in new Foxcatcher Teaser Trailer

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

There’s been a good amount of praise for FOXCATCHER ever since it’s premier at Cannes, and this new teaser trailer will probably give you a good idea why. Previous promotion for this flick centered around Steve Carrell‘s John du Pont, but this trailer takes a look at things from Channing Tatum‘s end (so to speak).

Watch Channing punch himself here:

I don’t think there’s any doubt that the actors gave it their all for this flick, but I can’t take Steve Carrell seriously in this. I’m not beyond accepting mostly-comedic actors tackling drama-centric roles or anything, but there’s something about the scenes he’s that feels like one of those opening trailers in TROPIC THUNDER. Regardless, I am a fan of all the leads involved, and Channing looks to be owning it in this new teaser. I’ll definitely give it a go come awards season and hopefully be able to accept Carrell’s take.

FOXCATCHER, starring Steve Carrell, Channing Tatum, and Mark Ruffalo, will hit theaters on November 14, 2014.
