Elizabeth Banks and James Gunn to reunite for a new horror film at Universal

It sounds as if the odds are ever in Elizabeth Banks' favor, for it's been announced that THE HUNGER GAMES and POWER RANGERS actress will star in a yet-to-be-titled horror film for The H Collective and producer James Gunn.

Set to be helmed by David Yarovesky (THE HIVE), who will direct from a script penned by both Brian and Mark Gunn, the new project will find Gunn and Banks reunited after the pair teamed up for SLITHER, Gunn's 2006 directorial debut.

Details are quite scarce about the project at this time, though Gunn recently commented that “Elizabeth and I have been on the same artistic page since we first met when she auditioned for Slither back in 2005. She’s since remained one of my best friends in the world, and I’ve been fighting tooth and nail to work with her again. She’s the perfect partner to Yarvo, the H Collective and myself in creating this very special project.”

Be sure to stay close as news about this project develops. In the meantime, why not pay a re-visit to SLITHER, Gunn's Cronenbergian horror comedy? In that underrated, blood-soaked riot of a film, a small town is taken over by an alien plague, turning residents into zombies and all forms of mutant monsters. Written and shot by Gunn, the film stars Nathan Fillion (FIREFLY), Elizabeth Banks (PITCH PERFECT) and Michael Rooker (GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY) in a gross-out sci-fi spectacle of absurd proportions. I highly recommend it.
