Eve returns to Lucifer in new image from the Netflix series’ final season

Lucifer, Season 5, Tom Ellis

Lord have mercy! One of my favorite characters is coming back for more devilishly good fun when LUCIFER returns for its fifth and final season on Netflix later this year!

A new and exclusive report hailing from Entertainment Weekly has revealed that Inbar Lavi will guest star as Eve in the farewell season LUCIFER, though no other details have descended from the heavens at this time. In addition to announcing Lavi's welcomed return, EW also shared an exclusive and sultry photo of Eve looking more tempting than ever!

Eve first graced the LUCIFER scene during the show's fourth (and arguably best) season. As the story goes, Eve left the kingdom of heaven in the hope of reconnecting with her ex-boyfriend Lucifer (Tom Ellis), who at the time was was dealing with the fallout of Chloe (Lauren German) discovering his true identity. To be fair, Lucifer had always shot straight with Chloe about his being the Devil, though honestly, who would believe such a thing before seeing it with their own eyes? After arriving on Earth, Eve had found that Lucifer's heart belonged to another. Feeling dejected, Eve looked to the comfort of strangers as her North Star in a strange new world. In time, Eve developed a romantic connection with Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt); however, after a spot of demon-related shenanigans, Eve left Maze and went in search of her own path among mortal men and women.

“We are so excited to have Inbar back!” said LUCIFER showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson to EW in a statement. “Last we saw her, Eve broke Maze’s heart. Soooo… a reunion between our favorite demon and the original sinner should go smoothly, right?”

Lucifer Morningstar and his beloved Chloe are going to have one hell of a mess to clean up before the series can be put to rest. I don't want to get into spoilers here, but suffice it to say that the fourth season of the show ended with both stars literally willing to go to Hell and back for one another. When the fifth season arrives, torturous decisions will have to be made, alongside many sacrifices, if Lucifer and Chloe are to strike a delicate balance between heaven and hell on earth.

“Both of them, based on where we left off in season 4, are in mourning in a way,” Brandt told EW during a set visit in October. “I think they are leaning into each other. Maze is of course mourning Eve, and definitely Lucifer going back without her; Chloe’s lost her love. They’re kind of holding onto each other as girlfriends do.”

German added: “We’re both heartbroken together because I’m missing Lucifer and she doesn’t really admit it but Maze is heartbroken from Eve leaving. She’s trying to forget about that as well, so we are going through a work/party phase together [in] episode 1.”

LUCIFER will return to Netflix later this year with the final season being split into two parts. We'll be sure to keep you updated as to when you can expect it to rise from out of the depths.
