Get a closer look at Green Goblin in new mini-bust from Amazing Spider-Man 2

Well. We now have this.

The folks at SevenWebHeads have dug up a mini-bust for Green Goblin in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, which gives us a much closer look at the new incarnation of the character, presumably played by Dane DeHaan. Based on what we've seen of the character in trailers and posters so far, this new version of the character looks much like the Harry Osborn of Raimi's films in terms of the uniform and lack of a mask (but, thankfully not a flying snowboard). However, the face on this Gobby looks much more goblin-like, just without the actual skin tone and, of course, purple hat. He also has claws (but, probably as gloves?), which is a step in the right goblin direction. I'll let these guys dissect it for you, though...

We've also seen Norman Osborn, as portrayed by Chris Cooper, laid up in bed with some nasty skin disease going on, so I'm curious if we'll see another Goblin character emerge from this (probably not, but you never know). DeHaan's version looks serviceable enough to me, but I'd still like to them go all out and give us a, y'know, GREEN Green Goblin. I know, it's a tall order. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing how it all shakes out onscreen and DeHaan is a great choice for the role, even if he looks more like Emo-Peter Parker from SPIDER-MAN 3 than a brillo-pad headed rich boy with daddy issues.

What do you think? Too Beavis or on the right track?

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 hits on May 2, 2014.
