Back in April we learned that Michael Barbieri (LITTLE MEN) has been cast as Timmy, the best friend of Tom Taylor's Jake Chambers in Nikolaj Arcel's THE DARK TOWER, and now Heroic Hollywood is reporting that the fourteen-year-old actor is currently in talks to play the BFF of Tom Holland's Peter Parker in SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.

Unfortunately, that's about it for confirmed details on Barbieri's role in the comic book movie. However sources tell Comicbook.com that he will be playing a new character who is modeled after the Ultimate Spider-Man's Ganke, "the trusted best friend of the other Spider-Man, Miles Morales. His affinity for Superheroes and unwavering optimism and support of his friend are his standout characteristics, which can be expected to be found in Barbieri's new character."

Filming for the upcoming solo Spidey flick is set to begin this summer for its July 7, 2017 release with Jon Watts (COP CAR) directing, while other cast members include Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton and Zendaya.
