New Locke & Key teaser unlocked ahead of tomorrow’s trailer

Netflix, Locke & Key, Joe Hill

Comic fans rejoice! IDW Publishing has unlocked a new promo for LOCKE & KEY that serves as a tease for tomorrow's full trailer reveal! Based on the comic book franchise co-created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, LOCKE & KEY centers around Tyler (Conner Jessup), Kinsey (Emilia Jones), and Bode Locke (Jackson Robert Scott), three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine only to find the house contains magical keys that grant them a vast array of potentially dangerous powers and abilities. What the Locke family doesn't know, is that there's a malevolent demon who dwells in the shadow's of their home who desires the keys, and will stop at nothing to posses them.

In addition to Jessup, Jones, and Scott, the upcoming adaptation also stars Sherri Saum as Ellie Whedon; Darby Stanchfield as Nina Locke; Griffin Gluck as Gabe; Laysla De Oliveira as Dodge; Petrice Jones as Scot; Thomas Mitchell as Sam Lesser; Steven Williams as Joe Ridgeway; Kevin Alves as Javi; and Asha Bromfield as Zadie. Author of the series, Joe Hill, will produce, alongside Carlton Cuse, Meredith Averill, and Andy and Barbara Muschietti.

For the 10-second teaser, we're treated to a variety of instances involving the Locke children and the mysterious keys they discover inside of their new home. As the story goes, each key unlocks either a strange new world or ability for those who wield them. And like all objects of immense power, there are those who would use the keys to nefarious ends … and will. As each scene becomes unlocked, we find the teaser placing some of the show's otherworldly effects on display. We also witness Kinsey using the all-powerful Head Key, which  allows the user to open someone's head so that thoughts and memories can be inserted or removed from the subject's mind. Oh the emotional havoc that can and will be wrought with this dangerous item. I don't want to give too much away, but one should always be careful of what they wish for when invoking the power of the keys. Some memories are best left forgotten, but at what cost?

After what feels like an absurdity long wait, LOCKE & KEY will finally be unlocked on Netflix beginning on February 7, 2020.
