Pegg & Frost announce Stolen Picture banner & Slaughterhouse Rulez horror

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Back in March of this year, best buds and ofttimes collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost announced that they were getting the band back together for a new project. Today, the kings of the Cornetto Trilogy (SHAUN OF THE DEAD< HOT FUZZ, WORLD'S END) have unveiled their new film and TV production banner Stolen Picture. As a way of celebrating their new label, the duo have also announced SLAUGHTERHOUSE RULEZ, a horror-comedy that will serve as a christening of sorts for the new label.

The film, which Pegg and Frost are set to executively produce, will be directed by Crispian Mills which is based on a script he co-wrote with Henry Fitzherbert. Sony pictures will be getting into the mix along with Global Media's Charlotte Walls on the film's production. Additionally, Sony's Josephine Rose will also act as an executive producer on the project.

SLAUGHTERHOUSE RULEZ is set in an elite boarding school – Welcome to Slaughterhouse – where boys are girls are groomed for power and greatness and they’re about to meet their match. The story’s hero, Don Wallace, is a wide-eyed new boy from a modest background forced to navigate a baffling new world of arcane rules and rituals, presided by sadistic sixth formers. Matters of status are aggressively enforced and conversation with school goddess Clemsie, are strictly forbidden.

But this ancient and ordered world is about to be shaken to its foundations – literally – and when a controversial frack site on prize school woodland causes seismic tremors, a mysterious sinkhole and an unspeakable horror is unleashed. Soon a new pecking order will be established as pupils, teachers and the school matron become locked in a bloody battle for survival.

In regard to the Stolen Picture banner itself, Pegg and Frost will be looking to nuture film and television projects that are geared toward a global audience. Each proposal will be personally vetted by the duo as they work toward building a respectable library of programs for their company.

Well, this certainly is exciting news! As someone who's enjoyed several of the film and TV projects that Pegg and Frost have worked on together in the past, I can only hope that their Stolen Picture banner brings great and entertaining things to the table. Previously, the duo have proven themselves to have a unique knack for comedy, and I think that the prospect of them branching out to approve and be involved in several genres of entertainment is promising indeed. We'll be sure to bring you more news about this collaboration as the details roll out.

For now, you can expect to see Simon Pegg in Vaughn Stein's TERMINAL thriller, starring Margot Robbie, Max Irons, and Mike Myers, which is now in post-production. Furthermore, you can catch Nick Frost as the voice of Frank in Holger Tappe's animated monster film HAPPY FAMILY, which is slated for an August 24, 2017 release.
