Step Up All In takes the dance action to Las Vegas in this first trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

The STEP UP franchise has never been a bastion of acting or quality filmmaking, but it did serve as a jumping off point for Channing Tatum and director Jon M. Chu. Now that they have departed the series for brighter prospects, the franchise will continue with new faces along with the continued use of 3D to highlight the intense dance moves and skills that each crew embodies through their physical and mental prowess.

Okay, I almost made it through that with a straight face. Wow, so we are really at the fifth entry in the STEP UP franchise and the first with a title that vaguely sounds like a double entendre or a poop joke. With almost no recognizable faces, STEP UP ALL IN feels more like a direct to Redbox type of film, but one that will assuredly make millions at the box office.

In the next exciting chapter of the international phenomenon STEP UP, all-stars from previous installments come together in glittering Las Vegas, battling for a victory that could define their dreams and their careers.

There is not much else to say about this movie aside from the fact that it would probably be a hell of a lot more interesting if the studio just filmed a documentary about a real dance crew competing for a Las Vegas show rather than casting these wooden actors with a mediocre screenplay.

STEP UP ALL IN stars Ryan Guzman, Briana Evigan, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Misha Gabriel, Izabella Miko, and Alyson Stoner. It hits theaters on July 25th.
