The Tick will finally arrive to save the day this August

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Gather ‘round, fans of The Tick, for your favorite blue-and-antenna-clad hero is returning to all the screens available to you, as Amazon has set a premiere date for the lunk’s return – August 25. With it comes a teaser that is the complete definition of the word, but keep in mind the pilot for this show made its debut last August, and is available for viewing now for all you Tick-hards.

Here’s a synopsis for the show:

In a world where superheroes have been real for decades, an accountant with zero powers comes to realize his city is owned by a super villain. As he struggles to uncover this conspiracy, he falls in league with a strange blue superhero.

The Tick is one of those characters who, when I saw Patrick Warburton dressed in the costume in magazines and such when I was a child, I thought of him much the same way I think of deranged-looking clowns like Bozo or Ronald McDonald. By that I mean it scared the hell out of me because I couldn’t understand why someone would choose looking so silly as a career, and simply assumed they decided to dress like that forever. Needless to say I never watched the Warburton show, but now that I’m only scared of spiders and vegans in my adulthood I can check out this new show with Peter Serafinowicz with no problem. Or I'll go through a repressed bout of crying on the floor. We'll roll the dice.

THE TICK arrives on Amazon August 25.
