A biopic of Princess Diana may may not be the typical cup of tea around these parts, but there's something about it that I find compelling. Perhaps its star Naomi Watts or DOWNFALL director Oliver Hirschbiegel, but DIANA looks like a finely made biopic that gives us a peek into one of the most fascinating people of the last century who has left a lasting and enduring impression amongst her many supporters. Today, we have a new international trailer for the film, which gives us a better glimpse at the love story aspect between DIANA and Dr. Hasnat Khan, as played by Naveen Andrews.

Take a look:

Here's the synopsis:

The last two years of Princess Diana's life: her campaign against land mines and her relationship with surgeon Dr Hasnat Khan.

Ultimately, this just looks to be a strong dramatic film and it's always interesting to see an actor or actress portray a real-life individual. With Watts pulling those duties, the allure is easy to understand. Throw in Andrews, who has barely been seen since his great turn as Sayid in ABC's Lost, and you've got a solid onscreen duo for a biopic about British royalty and forbidden love.

DIANA is set to open in the UK on September 20, 2013 with a U.S. yet to be announced.
