I sometimes feel bad for John Krasinski, especially how he was apparently turned away from the role of Captain America because of his association with THE OFFICE. As someone who – ever since Heath Ledger – now gives every outside casting choices a chance, that alway felt like a shitty move on both the fans and studios part (if true). Then I remember that Chris Pine kills it in the role, and also Krasinski is still attractive, famous, and rich, and I stop feeling bad for him.
However, it seems he’s still trying to scratch his rah-rah American hero itch, what with 13 HOURS and now TOM CLANCY’S JACK RYAN series from Amazon, which you can see a promo of embedded above. And, I mean, Krasinski is a fine actor (making a jackass like Jim seem likeable – watch that show again, the fucker is an actual creep), so he comes off fine in the one scene of dialogue, and the action looks serviceable at least.
