No Time To Die: Terminally ill fan’s plea to see film early goes viral

This story is a bit on the sad side but hopefully, the outcome will present a happy ending, all things considered. A James Bond fan, with mere weeks to live, is hoping to preview Daniel Craig's last foray as 007 in No Time to Die before he passes away. The fan's request, since going public, has gone viral all over social media as fans fight to give him his dying wish.

James Millar is a 57-year-old Bond superfan who lives in Bonds Cottage completely surrounded by film merchandise and even a James Bond-themed doormat at the front door. His daughter Remy took to Twitter to post a short video showcasing some of her father's collection and asking whether anyone can help him see a preview of the long-delayed film, which is slated for release on September 30, 2021, in the U.K. and October 8, 2021, in the U.S. The film was originally slated for release in April of 2020 but it became the first major studio release to delay its launch due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Twitter caption reads, "My dad is a lifelong James Bond fan. But he's been given weeks to live at the age of 57, and he won't make it to the #NoTimeToDie release date. Please can anyone help? I've made a video for more detail" The tweet has received nearly 4,000 likes and 2,500 retweets and it continues to gain traction. You can check out the tweet with the video below!

When speaking with "Variety", Remy said, "When you're hit with a terminal diagnosis and given weeks to live, life and what happens beyond it (for both the one leaving and those staying), is all you can think about. With a diagnosis like my father's cancer, the joys of life [have] been take away – taste, smells, movement, comfort, freedom, possibility, spontaneity. What I want to give for my dad is a couple of hours of respite, where he can suspend reality and lose himself in the franchise he has passionately loved and followed and immersed himself in for all of his 5 decades."

"Variety" reportedly contacted No Time to Die, producers, Eon Productions, and film's international distributor Universal Pictures for comment on the Millar family's request. I sincerely hope they reach out to the family and give this man his dying wish to see the film early. It won't change his ultimate fate, but the joy he'll get from seeing a film from his favorite franchise will give him that last bit of happiness he's longing for. If we hear how this turns out, we will update this story to let you know if James Millar got his wish.
