With a screenplay penned by Ritchie, John August (BIG FISH, CORPSE BRIDE), and Vanessa Taylor (THE SHAPE OF WATER, GAME OF THRONES), ALADDIN is based off Disney's 1992 animated classic which starred Robin Williams as the genie with phenomenal cosmic powers who'd been cursed to reside in a magic lamp as his itty bitty living space. Set to star as the big blue wonder is Will Smith, who will be joined by Billy Magnussen, Naomi Scott, Nasim Pedrad, Mena Massoud, Marwan Kenzari, Numan Acar, Navid Negaban, Kamil Lemieszewski and Adam Collins for the high fantasy adventure.

The story of Disney's ALADDIN tells the tale of a spirited street rat name Aladdin, who discovers a magic lamp with a genie inside. Upon freeing the mythical being from his ancient incarceration, the genie agrees to grant his new master three wishes. However, Aladdin soon discovers that an evil sorcerer also desires the lamp, and will stop at nothing until he can use the genie's power to transform himself into the most power wizard in all the world. As if that's not enough for Aladdin to contend with, the plucky vagabond also finds himself caught in a lie when trying to win the affections of Princess Jasmine, a tough as nails princess who's not about to trust a stranger trying to pull the wool over her beautiful brown eyes. Together, Aladdin, Jasmine, and a magic carpet work to defeat the evil sorcerer, Jafar, before he can bring about the end of Agrabah.

The film is scheduled for a May 24, 2019 release, giving us plenty of time to think about how we would spend our three wishes, were we to come face-to-face with an all powerful genie. In fact, if you were to be granted three wishes, tell us what they would be in the comments section below. Oh, and don't forget, you can't wish for more wishes. That's cheating.
