Things are looking better for Vince Vaughn these days; with a possible starring role in the upcoming second season of True Detective and with the great sounding TERM LIFE hitting next year, we could see a return to form for the actor. Poor comedies aside (DELIVERY MAN, THE INTERNSHIP) , Vaughn is a talent, and given the right material and people to work with, he can light up the screen. Now he’s looking to restore his comedic talent in THE POLITICIAN produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg.
Here’s the synopsis:
A politician in Washington D.C. who is caught in a scandal with some hookers. The man and his underachieving accomplice go on the run from the FBI, U.S. Marshals and a gang of drug dealers.
WHAT IF and GOON director Michael Dowse will be helming from a script which was on the 2013 Blacklist by Matthew Bass and Theodore. So with this plot there's reason to be skeptical, and it's Vaughn in a new comedy. But there is also reason to be optimistic with Rogen and Goldberg’s involvement. Vaughn was found guilty by a lot of you in a recent Movie Jail article; but I will ask anways – What do you guys say? Will you give this one a chance?
