Vince Vaughn to play a city slicker in Netflix action comedy

Back in September, it was announced that WEDDING CRASHERS star Vince Vaughn would be starring in a THE PURGE-like comedy feature for Hulu titled THE BINGE. The aforementioned film, which hails from American High, is set in a time where all drugs and alcohol are illegal, and the only day anyone can participate in the “fun” is on Binge day. Now, if that doesn't sound like your cup o' tea, please allow me to tempt you with Vaughn's latest project.

Netflix has announced today that they've landed a pitch for an untitled ensemble action adventure comedy, with Vince Vaughn taking on one of the three main roles. The plot is being kept under wraps at this time, though sources close to the project have told Deadline that the endeavor is likely to be in the spirit of CITY SLICKERS and OLD SCHOOL. Penning the script will be WORKAHOLICS and THE INTERN scribe Anders Holm. Meanwhile, READY PLAYER ONE producer Dan Farah will produce via his Farah Films banner alongside longtime collaborator, Peter Billingsley.

With namedrops the likes of CITY SLICKERS and OLD SCHOOL, one has to wonder what Vaughn's mysterious new project is all about. Will the film find him vacationing with friends in the hopes of embarking on a wild adventure? Can we expect frat-like shenanigans to play a part in this new venture? Your guess is as good as mine, so I suppose we'll just have to wait for more details to find out.
